A Memorial Tribute to CG Dems Member and Volunteer Ileana Casanova
We are sad to announce the loss of dedicated CG Dems Member and Volunteer Ileana Casanova, who died on January 31, 2022 in a horrific accident.
Born in Cuba, she grew up in Texas. Ileana's career as an educator was enhanced by her world travel, where she enjoyed each country's art, music and cuisine. She devoted her time, energy and funds to Caritas Cuba, which serves the vulnerable across Cuba.
Ileana also believed deeply in protecting the rights and freedoms granted her family when they immigrated to the US, which she turned into action as a CG Dems volunteer in the past few years. We are moved that her obituary suggests donations to CG Dems as well as other worthy causes.
